aaahhh.. the novel explains his way of thinking significantly better than the manhwa. in the manhwa it seemed like he gave up because he couldn‘t be bothered with, while the novel shows he left because he was aware of his limited knowledge. got it.. thank you for looking up the chapter!

and it was mainly because he can see how dangerous it was. the building collapsed after he went out. dane left him and he cannot follow and he doesn't want to risk his life too

So many people are trying to make it seem like the novel shows that Grayson is just curious about why Dane would keep looking and that Grayson only left him in there because Grayson realized he had limited knowledge or ability here, like that makes any of it passable? Grayson is just showing how narcissistic and sociopathic he is. If he knew he wasn’t going to be good at being a firefighter then he shouldn’t have nepo-babied his GROWN ASS into the fire department or insisted he go into the fire with Dane. But no, he thinks training for that abysmially small amount of time is enough for him to be able to go in there, and then he proceeds to not listen at all except when it serves him. He’s not curious because he genuinely wants to know and to learn, he’s curious like a kid watching an animal do something weird and thinking “haha, stupid animal.” He’s a narcissist sociopath.

And what about the leader who sent him inside??? They already knw how he was and that's why they hate him. As a firefighter, none the less leader, why sending a rookie inside of a massive fire esp who is there by nepotism without any tests and all. And what about the fire department, who accepted a person without any exams just for money???

throw the entire fire department, except for dane, into the trash. grayson being a piece of shit and a little insane is obvious. but the way the fire department treated grayson? even if he nepo-babied his way in there, they tried to jump grayson‘s ass more than twice, and that shit team leader is not only a wuss but genuinely a piece of shit. he was even on board with dane throwing hands at a civilian (grayson). and the chief accepting grayson in the first place?! they should’ve taken it out on him! grayson is the perfect fit for the fire department tbh. the odd one out is dane, who really just wants to help no matter what nor who. literal clown show. all of them are narcissists and doing whatever it takes for their personal gain. either for new equipment, trying to attract women, jealousy or just because.
