I saw there was a spinoff of this that piqued my interest so I came to take a cursory glance here to see if I gotta read this to read the spinoff... But you listed all the series I avoid like the plague (POTN is included in that even though it's not a white buff Russia torturing a Korean black haired bottom). So I guess I gotta say bye bye to the spinoff because I am never reading this.
As someone who loves those tropes, I’m not completely sure why I like it, for sure I like how possessive and obsessive they, they r willing to cross lines because they love them sm, IK it’s toxic and controversial but I like it. And I like how at first the mls are cold and not emotionally there and they meet the Mc and fall in love and slowly open up and become less cold

It’s understandable, people have different preferences. Just to remind some people who may not know, this novel was released in 2006, so it’s pretty old and slightly problematic, thats why it may seem like a boring and a repetitive plot to others.
I personally think it’s impressive that a novel plot this old can still be interesting to today’s standards and I liked it cause the plot was different from many other manhwas and the art was good too so that was all that it had to have in order for me to like it, it was also one of the bl manhwas I kept rereading along with others, it was personally interesting to me and the characters are unique.
The writing great unlike the bullshit you just listed PASSION came first.
I've been seeing this story consistently come up in this site as recommended. Taking a cursory glance gives off similar vibes like Roses and Champagne (completed, wont be rereading it), Codename Anastasia (Dropped it after Volume 1), Mayday (completed, not really a big fan). Black haired uke getting dominated by buff white top who's slightly (or completely) psycho and seeing 5 volumes with 130+ chapters, what's exactly is going on besides a guy called Ilay going poundtown with Taeui for it to have this much chapters??? Some people are loving it and I'm curious
