I think nirei was able to process his feelings properly because he got to confront suo directly, albeit not successfully. While sakura had to listen from others that one of his best bud beat the shit out of his other best bud. Like they said, sakura's maturity on processing his feelings is like that of a child. So unable to confront the main source of his anguish, aka suo, he doesn't know where or how else to direct it.
I really get what you all mean, however, my point's more about... how do I explain this... it feels like if it had been Nirei the one gone in this situation, Sakura's reaction would be the one we're seeing right now (?) I don't feel the same closeness between Suo and Sakura as they each have with Nirei. There was a Reddit post that mentioned something similar: "Am I the only one who thinks Sakura and suo are not as close?

At the beginning of the manga it showed how much suo was curious about Sakura and interested in him So I thought we'll get of development about the two of them but eventually it feels author focus more on suo and neirei relationship

I feel that Nirei should be the one acting the way Sakura is acting right now, like THEIR connection lately (without belittling the relationship between Suo and Sakura) has been deeper with a lot of chapters dedicated to developing their friendship. Well, I always felt the wall between Suo and everyone else...
