problems in the manhwa for losers

1. nobody and og colonists who came never descended from “blue blood” (noble/rich blood). everybody came to start fresh or escape gov persecution, mainly bc of them being protestant.

2 slavery was never abolished in the west at this time. yes, the 13th amendment came but it never applied to the areas shown in the manhwa. it wasn’t until 1789 (northern ordinance) that they became “free states”

3. NOBODY that had wealth at the time had clean money. everyone who got rich benefitted directly off of the enslavement of black people.

4. while the scene of ml freeing the enslaved is good on paper, it comes off as shitty writing. the black people call him “young master” and there is no real depth to the scene or characters because for the author, its basically just there to show that ml is super cool

the institution of slavery in the usa lasted 400 years and even after that they were still enslaved under a new system and being segregated. the timeline of black exploitation is not old history, i’ve met people who remember their sharecropping days, racial segregation, and those witnessed the kkk walk down their neighborhood as children.

See like this is a valid critique and you considered the historical contexts. Slavery is a complex issue and I don't think the author did enough research on the topic. In my opinion, they could have either done a story without the slavery and js cowboys, or if they wanted the social conflict that themes of war and slavery can add to a story, they should've written about a fictional nation based on America. Overall, I think we need to see more of the story to make a proper judgement, but from what I see the author is a bit ignorant and lacks self-awareness. But alas, we are pirating this so, no money goes to the author. The more we talk abt it the more people will try and read it both legally (give money to author) and illegally (website traffick = more likely to be found by authorities).

Oh you make a good point lmao. What old money was going to somewhere as risky as the “wild west”. Shows the author’s lack of research. I guess the author just wanted to write a depressed rich boy and watched too many spaghetti westerns
