This story is based on the Antebellum period/Civil War, the topic needs to be handled with care and respect because Slavery is not a topic you could just gloss over.The line “I’m your humble slave.” Is just simply insane, disrespectful, and simply racist. Because why did he have to say that? Why did the author have to add that line? What is the appeal and to what audience is this targeting?Even in a satirical or sarcastic tone it is not okay.
