at least in most historical fiction there’s an ounce of historical accuracy and usually the person making the fiction has an understanding of the history to know what and what not to do, this is just a blatant disregard of that history and a poor attempt at a bl story, someone else on here said this was poorly executed and i agree if the author was going for the western/southern vibe they could’ve went a similar route as Dead or Alive or a different western trope, knowing most bls had this story continued it most likely wouldn’t even regard the actual history (which is important in historical fiction) of slavery and instead be your run of the mill bl (MOST LIKELY)
no bc that account has actually been saying some insane nonsense here but know that even if your explanation doesn’t work out with that account, it was a really good one explaining the issues about the story. you can’t slap the “fiction” label on anything and think you can get away with some extremely insensitive issues that still affect people in the current day

who approved this genuinely? it had to go through someone to even have the first chapter posted was everyone on jaxx team seriously on board with this??? it’s tone deaf and disrespectful it ignores so much serious and important American history, boiling it down to the “passionate worker/slave” and the “war torn veteran” like what??? any ounce of knowledge abt the history of slavery in america is enough to see the problem with this, stay out of american history dear jaxx pls and ty
