I’m not reading all that stupid shit but know this I know this well the transatlantic slave trade and the sub-Saharan slave trade was the first ever slave trait to happen because of a group of people’s skin color if you and your community can’t stand up what’s right and wrong that that’s not up to us. The black community will continue to stand up for our people because no one else will do it so shut the fuck up and take your crying somewhere else.
I think the main reason of these stories being here and not cancelled is because of those fans with the mindset of “its just fiction” or “its a good written story/popular story”. Its nowadays where people are starting to become more aware and applying it on content, I feel like thats a step up rather then performative activism but then it could be because hypocrisy exists. Nonetheless, if this story got canceled because of racism then for sure the future stories as such would get the same treatment (or are highly likely to), its a positive step up.
babe youre not the only one who suffered, I literally have members in my own life who were tortured in Iraq for what they believed, I have families who left homes because of war and the killings in the 80s as well as the 2010s, I have friends who lost their homes from bombings. My own grandparent couldn't even have a grave in his own land because of what he believed. Put this energy you have on a fictional story to real issues babe
I'm west asian, I'm palestinian so I understand some of your points abt how they write arabs and you should talk abt how it is harmful stereotypes especially in a time muslims and arabs are facing a lot of hate but you cannot compare this type of slavery to the slavery in their own countries they weren't eating them they werent turning them into furniture they were slaves bc of wealth and debt not bc the color of their skins so many racist ppl use that to be like "Well slavery existed everywhere" the Atlantic slavery trade was FAR worse than those and still affects the world today bc in american sundown towns still exists in Canada black ppl are still being lynched it is insensitive to compare the two when theres an obvious difference
Bitch, I don’t fucking care then get your communicated and rally around your people. The black community will continue to stand for us and what’s right and what’s wrong. That situation has nothing to do with us. Call out your community for staying silent on the injustices you have faced you piece of shit
That is such a racist way of thinking. The purpose of stoping racism is coming together no matter where you’re from?? You can’t downplay one act of racism while empathize on the other, its true one has it worse but it doesn’t mean that the other is any less. Whats the point of standing against racism and mistreatment if you’re stuck on ‘my community, your community’ why not all communities helping out each other??
Just because it happened everywhere doesnt means it needs to be normalised and made light of. It is a serious issue and people of colour still face racism everywhere, and thatx why there was a need for this story to be cancelled. A bit of research and jaxx could have easily avoided this mess of story she was trying to release and reduce it to yaoi.
And if anyone says "use it on real life racism issues" what make you think someome is NOT DOING THAT? Theres a reason why people made sure this story is cancelled was for the same reason. If anymore chaps and we could see some serious problems right away irl but oh yeah "use it on real life racism" lol
people do talk about the orientalism and racism of the "middle eastern lover" stories, though? there aren't the same numbers as with the people commenting here, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there? and the people who would talk about it aren't commenting on those works because they don't like them, clearly. people do take issue and talk about it, but they get shouted down and insulted for it.
there's no need to downplay one issue in favor of another, when the "hypocrisy" or "performativity" you're seeing is really just a numbers and focus game. People talk about these things and then get called "too woke" and "too up in arms over fiction" for it.

im a middle eastern (from Iraq + Assyrian cultural roots) and honestly when I was reading the first chapter, I didn't see the issue until you guys pointed it out, even after pointing it out, again; it wasn't something that was like 'lets cancel her'. Cause it would mean using the logic from here, every single work based on wars, within the last 30 years, from books, novels, movies, shows, web novels etc, should be wiped out from the planet because it used the themes of 'slavery, war, abuse etc'
How come when Koreans write barbaric, stupid stories of middle eastern culture, often showing them with maids, slaves and being drawn as like a beast 'described as one too' is not an issue? The men who are Arab being toxic, abusive, manipulative and a rapist isn't an issue? How come those stories weren't banned and you made the authors stop writing it? ENNDED should've been cancelled too, cause I was uncomfortable with the way it was done, the incest, inaccuracies, all of it. Yet if I open my mouth about it, I would be jumped for it. Which is why I hate reading any stories with middle eastern themes because its often really racist (Rahman from PASSION having a REAL Royal family last name is lowk insensitive as fuck for example)
Slavery happened EVERYWHERE, especially in the Middle East and Africa, (by their own people mind you) You can't jump one without the other, if you want to cancel this story, cancel the rest. Don't be a performative activist, cause an ISIS bride had a living slave in her own house, yet no one spoke up about it, instead on wasting energy on a fictional story, which is BASED on real time (NOT REAL LIFE SCENARIOS) focus on the world which has these issues among us and maybe people won't be killed.
