Even though I don't think she did it out of malice, I still wonder what she was thinking. It was probably a fetishized romantic notion combined with a bit of naivety—but she chose a truly terrible historical era for it. People really ought to educate themselves a bit more about history.

I think it was an extremely horrible bland of wanting to mix the ex slave x king trope with the American aesthetic (since this kind of manhwa has been growing more and more). But unintentional racism is still racism
