A master/slave yaoi set in that era—I mean, it was obvious there would be a lot of criticism; she really should have just stuck to cowboys, or if she absolutely wanted to draw or tell a master/slave story, she should have done it in a completely different era.

Sad thing is, it was actually such an interesting trope too (slave x master). Definitely could have lived without romanticizing a sensitive historical moment

I like those Slave x Master bdsm stories I don't mind if it's just a pure fetish manwha , no good story needed

But actual historical events where a huge number of people died—that’s a really poor choice.

Endings are always a bit of a touchy subject for many people; often they aren't satisfying, or are simply poorly written—some love them, others don't. Personally, I feel this ending fits perfectly—there couldn't have been a better one—and it leaves plenty of room for interpretation.

I'm also curious to see what kind of extra chapters will be released after the hiatus.

Personally what disturb me the most isnt the ending but the progression itself, ricky seems constantly betraying hojung feels like too annoying already. And the ending make it seems like maybe he still will betray hojung anytime soon since theres no ending to it (its open ending but the flow made me think like this). I love bittersweet manhwa but not like this....

Oh, somehow I completely missed that someone had replied to this. Yeah, I have to agree with you there; I don't think the two of them really trust each other at all, and Ricky thinks Hojung is going to prioritize his family every time regardless. I hope we get to see a bit more of both of them in the extra chapters (hopefully both in America).
