People swearing at this kid as if his mom wasn't dead in the ground less than a year before his dad shacked up with his mom's BFF. The kid was rightly upset and it probably messed him up emotionally. If his mom could be replaced like that, then could he? Probably thought his dad's love was a lie, too.
I think a few of the characters are written ok. I'm enjoying Michael right now because we can all see the slowly brewing storm there. As long as the author remembers that, I'm looking to enjoy the fallout. MC isn't bad either. The duality of her being so level-headed, her caring for the children, but also being wounded emotionally by them isn't something manwhas often explore with any decorum. Moms are either amazing or scum of the earth. My only gripe is that it's never addressed if she gave up on solving her friend's murder after 7 years and with the children now being adults.
I also think the youngest son is alright, for now.

I had big hopes for this manhwa, but what i see here i just poor character and dialogs wriring .
In my opinion the eldest son has every right to be angry and outraged - after all, the female lead stepped into her friend's shoes immediately after the latter's death (as a new mother and wife), yet she acts incredibly surprised and taken aback by her stepson's words; - It could just as well be a typical manhwa, where she would essentially have been the true villain of this world
It’s all a bit childish...
