A genuine question

So i’ve been thinking about this a long time now while reading this manhwa and i really want to hear others opinions on this cause me myself i don’t know how to put it, also i have no one to talk to so i came here to ask it lol.

But as far as we know (from the novel readers and the spoilers from the comments) is that jiwook actually is the one who started the whole thing when they were younger and that all because juhyeon confessed his feelings to him so jiwook decided to basically ruin him.. and now we see the results from juhyeons behaviour as “revenge”.

But my question is the following.. since jiwook actually don’t remember anything from the past and seeking an answer from juhyeon on what he did wrong and why he has to suffer, does that make jiwook like a real victim? Like doesn’t he have the right to atleast know what he did wrong? Or you see it as “no He just deserves it and doesn’t need to know”?

I really need to know that, and maybe it’s obvious for some people and maybe i’m the stupid one, but really I don’t know how to draw that line (and i’m speaking now as non novel reader)

He deserves to know. I am not sure if rape was involved in the past, but what is happening rn is also not justified since the person itself doesn't remember. He deserves to know and actually repent for his crime.

i would say both jiwook and juyeon are a victim and perpetrator. a victim can become a perpetrator and vise versa. present jiwook is a victim and juyeon is the perpetrator while young jiwook was the perpetrator and young juyeon was the victim.

does jiwook deserve all this torture even though he has amnesia so he didn't remember what he did? yes and no. i think he still deserves the consequence but not to this extent. juyeon already got his revenge but instead of stopping once he just take it to extreme. there's no justice for both sides.

also spoiler : jiwook got his memories back at the of the main story. before he got it himself, juyeon told him what actually happened in the past.

back in middle school juyeon confessed his crush to jiwook in which jiwook proceed to manipulate juyeon and then he along with his friends gangraped juyeon. not only that, they also recorded the rape and sent the video to juyeon's mom after that his mom got so shocked that she's now in psych ward

But does that make them both “equal victims”? And if that, doesn’t that make juhyeon less of a victim compared to jiwook? Since he was going through more stuff than jiwook. (Especially the thing with his mom being in hospital)
