God i hate it when people push rl societal standards to fiction especially exaggerating things just bc it doesn't fit western standards. To anyone concerned abt the age gap: 1) its fiction, its not meant to be a depiction of what a rl relationship should look like, and sure as hell is not depicting a relationship based on western standards. 2) even if it is, the age of consent in every country is different. Being 17 in a relationship with a 21 y/o is completely normal in many countries in Asia. Japan especially has 16 y/o as the age of consent when their partner is less than 5 years older than them. If you check other Asian countries you'll tend to see lower age of consent. Its completely legal and is considered fine. 3) if you're that concerned then don't read it? Like why are you complaining when it has no problems except you feeling uncomfortable bc its not up to western standards.
