I think he did suffer enough. Turning back time slashing those monsters thousand times just to see her. He eventually went back to her after he announced he's not holy anymore, but he's too late
That actually does sound pretty worthy (maybe even excessive punishment.) Did she actually witness his suffering or did she just accept him because he said he's a "changed man" and "things are different now"? Like, was it very off-screen for her?

Ml did everything he can to make fl's living condition to be better too. In the scene where he runs when he realized that he and FL had sex, he was just too overwhelmed about it but he did the right thing immediately and actually wanted to be with her. Yeah,he a dumb dumb for not reciprocating fl, cause yeah he's a holy knight but he did kill Cecilia and her family cause he learned every suffering FL went through when he went to Irene's quarter (the maid gossips when they were cleaning her room, that's where he learned everything). Fast forward he found that artifact thing that FL has (that black thing I don't know what it's called,ml also has the other part), he had to kill every monster to turn back time.
He was always unlucky and never find Irene in every timeline he went through, he also could not kill Cecilia or any other human immediately cause he had to go back again square one (this is the part I've had a hard time understanding, he can't kill Cecilia right away when it's not the right timing or something like that) Alas he found Irene in this lifetime and made sure everything FL will have a comfortable life.
He's actually sus with Irene cause there are times Irene knew about the dungeons and artifact,but I think it's more of the readers pov while reading it.
Andddd the yearning and love making is so good too. The novel link is somewhere in the comment section. The translation is also good, they made the story flowy not awkward to read to, like literal translation into English.

Yes!! He has heard the priests insulting the fl, but did nothing. He made the fl a laughingstock by moving her hand away(cuz dude thought he was curse for feeling horny), and knights laughed at her but ml did nothing. He saw the fl sleeping on a bench with tattered clothes, and homie did NOT investigate despite him claiming he sent someone to give her money... The ml himself have admitted it's cuz of his coldness and pride that made him do stupid sht. Do I think the ml deserves the fl? Fucking hell no. The fl deserves someone better, and it's unfortunate that the fl did not get angry at him even just a little bit cuz everything's well cuz the dude fought a lot of monsters(to the point he became a demon king) just to return back time, so whatever he did was forgiven. Idk, the fl is just someone who's so vulnerable and in need of love :/ I just wished we got a better ml. I have such a soft spot for fls like her.. she literally had nobody, but she got a dumbt btch as a ml.
The only part I definitely saw he ignored is that one time he saw FL struggled to get a golden coin that was on the floor rolling. I wanna smack him so bad in that scene cause he didn't help her. In the original timeline, he heard gossips but I think he really doesn't wanna associate himself too much with her (cause he's a horny madafucka) cause of his standing and beliefs as a holy man to the point he's blind by the gossips he heard, but since she is his pair, he also thinks that FL being not with him in the dungeon he is somewhat able to protect her from the monster (cause she doesn't have to engage with them directly)
He sent money on her and thought she was spending it on herself too.
I even forgive yaoi weird mental gymnastic seme what more with a dumb ml Yeah he has too much to atone but I can get past that, I don't know about other or you though.
That's just TOO crazy. If the writer wanted him to be redeemable, misunderstandings and missed opportunities would have been better. His negligence is as bad as a hate crime, just throw the whole man away. She can take him back, but a fumble that audacious requires actual working through together. The FL needs to demonstrate self-respect, boundaries, expectations, self-love, etc. (in my opinion). Didn't even treat her like a whole ass person, acted like she was just a pet he recklessly leaves with rando sitters.

The way I interpreted the novel is very different though so just take this like a grain of salt, the FL is so pitiful in the story but in her pov, she understands her standing in ml's life too. As you can see in this timeline she did try to change things to not meet ml.The only thing that michael in my opinion did wrong is not being in Irene's side. I can set that aside since he did everything he can to give Irene what she deserves.

She's so vulnerable ughhowjsidjd this is why I can't find any way to justify the ml, cuz the fl's mentality is fucked. She legit craves for love and has nobody on her side. It's obvious she's not gonna have a lot of self respect and go with a man who can save her situation rn. Just rlly unfortunate :/ I get what the author was trying to achieve, but it would've rlly nice if the fl was a little angry. Like let's be real girl... But nope, as expected, her vulnerable self is so easy to capture.
