These two perfectly show how a person’s mindset when dealing with trauma completely shapes who they become. It literally programs their reflexes, the way they think, and their entire moral compass of what's right and wrong, good and bad.

On one hand, we have Dane, whose past definitely wasn't sunshine and rainbows either. He’s clearly been through his own trauma, but he chose to let those scars refine him, making him more empathetic, compassionate, and stronger.

On the other hand, there’s Grayson, who has never once taken accountability for his actions. He genuinely believes that just serving time or taking a punishment completely wipes his slate clean, without ever feeling remorse or actually understanding WHY what he did was messed up in the first place! Because of that, he grew up to be emotionally detached and completely lacking in empathy, unless it fits his own twisted, useless perspective. Honestly, most of the time, his idea of 'helping' ends up doing more harm than good. He’s completely oblivious to his own toxicity and genuinely buys into the delusion that he's a good person.

I’m not saying his parents aren’t awful -especially Ash- but where they failed is that they never taught their son to view the people around them as actual human beings, especially the omegas. And that’s where I blame Koi. As an omega himself, he never even tried to pull the brakes on these unhinged alphas or stop them from hurting other omegas.

It clearly shows that most of the time, the kinds of people who sorrounds you affects you. Those in grayson's life gave up the clinical way when it did not work, and chose the wrong form of solution; which clearly did not fix him or made him a better person.
Dane also has his mind intact so he knows what's right. But Grayson? None ever bothered talking to him like Dane, bc until now, he was still confused why people are mad when he's helping them.
