It’s not exactly a refuse to read but I really hate when something so clearly would’ve been more beautiful and meaningful as a tragedy but the author made it a happy end just for the sake of it having a happy ending. I also am not a fan of when kidnapping arcs take up more than 10 chapters like obviously if that’s not the main plot point(secretary Jin’s diary for example) but when it just keeps going for 10 or more chapters i just drop it
I know this is ironic because I refuse to read things with a sad ending at alllll but I actually agree! I think people associate sad endings with bad story. Just cuz something didnt end in fairytale happiness doesnt make it a bad story. Some stories I read, I think "there is no way this ends in a happy way" but it always gets twisted to be a happy ending even if it is super unrealistic.
Just hate the forced aspect of being a dom or sub in that universe and the inability to resist because it is the inherent nature of the secondary gender. Consent is vital in bdsm play, but if you're born a sub and you inherently cannot resist a dom's command, you no longer have consent. the doms themselves inherently want to control and can easily do so without regard for the sub's consent. The whole verse is just a disaster.
