I think from the beginning, sunhwa had acted fragile in front of him. Not fragile like… weak per se. But like the kind of bf that Nanjo felt like he needed to take care of and protect. I have no idea, I need to go back and reread ts.
We won’t get their first meeting bc Sunhwa already explained how they met. It’s simply Nanjo’s superiority complex. He thinks that what he thinks and believes is reality. He decided to believe that Sunhwa was in an abusive relationship bc Sunhwa showed himself as a fragile little doll to Nanjo. So of course Nanjo thought that someone as sweet, small and fragile like Sunhwa could never be into BDSM. Bc Nanjo is also straight. So he’s probably constantly comparing him to the image he has of a woman. And it’s all bc Sunhwa put on an act. He pretended to be like that to get Nanjo’s attention. Sunhwa is selfish and self centered. He would never go out of his way to show his true colors for a guy he just wants to have sex with or wants his money.

I think it’s understandable that Nanjo was looking for Sunhwa, he probably thinks Sunhwa is the victim, but I really don’t understand where his whole misunderstanding about the nature of Sunhwa’s character came from don’t get me wrong I feel so bad Mokyeon and what became of their relationship, but I really feel like there’s a missing piece of the puzzle that we won’t understand unless we get some background about Nanjo and Sunhwa and how they met from his POV bc I really don’t get it lol like the fact he’s even the first person he asked for when he woke up like I need some justification for his behavior towards him I don’t get it at all
