You clearly didn't read the novel or didn't get the story, even if Ashley ain't the father all dominant alpha in this story are psychopath,even Pittman and his father are crazy and don't have fatherly bond with their sons, only the omega and regular alpha can feel father bond
and knowing that dominant alphas are crazy, and still decided to marry one.

And to Pittman mother(angel ) he was forced by Pittman's father he was caged and beat up he always run away but he always gets caught yeah all the alpha in this story are trash
Koi was loved, but that turned into obsession after their highschool breakup. Koi is what you can consider naive and gullible. Ash was a good boy but got broken and went crazy (not depending him, he's insane, literally)
He's not dom alpha that time though so being good boy is not his real self haha
If you forgot ash is the one who break his self cause he's to obsessed with koi and he used that to manipulated him he choose to be broken in the head he didn't get that by accident
