I read this a while ago and then lost track of the name. Rereading it, I don’t care, it’s just peak. I don’t think many artists can capture subtle emotions the way Ssak does in DBMHU. Yeonu smiling but you can see his neck tense, or when he chewed up his straw in frustration. Just little things that are easy to miss but also so very human. I especially love Gyuyeong! He feels very realistic and all of his concerns were grounded. The scene where he first breaks down in from of Yeonu is so well done as well. I love that the artist draws the way the chin tenses up. Also when he tried really hard not to cry at the after party. I’m just saying that if you’ve ever had a mental breakdown like that, those scenes felt real and nuanced. I’m really glad that we got to see Yeonu struggle and become more obsessed with him too. I do think that Yeonu loves him more and that’s completely realistic because he has more headspace to do so. Gyuyeong was going through life in survival mode, got high on the instant gratification of dating Yeonu, and then crashed when he got too comfortable. It’s really well done and refreshing.
