if your thinking why the fl didn't immediately solve this problem. It's because she has to run a town and the at first she does use her personal funds to get the people food(she has to decide where it's best to use her money). So she can't just from the start give them clothes when the weather isn't even demanding it. after solving the major crises she immediately makes her goal for better life conditions by giving them a job. They can buy the clothes themselves.(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
i know, and as for the second paragraph, i really didn't think of it that way. i was just uncomfortable with how the rich people and the farmers were portrayed. i guess it's because you can apply it to reality as well, yk? people like farmers are the backbone of a country, yet they often suffer more than the people who benefit from their hard work. their situation can depend so much on the people handling the country's economy and making decisions that affect their livelihoods. farmers literally have to get their hands dirty just to provide food for everyone, while the people who take advantage of their labor somehow get to keep their hands clean and live comfortably. it's just ironic how the people who work the hardest to keep a country going are often the ones who suffer the most.
Honestly true it's sad to see people's hard work be undermined by the rich folks. But we can't exactly do anything about it other than taking actions ourselves (for example charity and donations and supporting shelters which provides people with jobs)and some jobs are gonna be harder than others.
But it is also true that there will always be a need for someone who plans for the future and if the planner(like fl) is a sympathetic person then we will actually see rise in living conditions for people who do the heavy lifting but if someone who isn't sympathetic towards people then and their needs of course we will end up with poverty stricken places with a cyclic way of living for generations.
In my country, we have a chapter (in english)showcasing the poverty of people who are stuck in a cycle where every part of system keeps them enclosed and working for the rich people for generations. Because they don't have education they don't know how to get out and can't fight back cause they will be made into thugs, put in jail, beaten etc. it's comman truth that we always look past because we never even thaught about it.
Corruption is really the worst.
i felt so bad to those villagers, man. the mc and her chaperone were so extra with their dresses while the villagers were thin and rags.
