Sex is biological, and gender is your identity. You (sadly) can’t change your sex, but you can totally change your gender.
That’s also why the statement ‘there are only two genders’ is absolute bullshit, because gender has nothing to do with your biology. (There also aren’t only two sex, since you can be born intersex.)
