i completely disagree she's responding from trauma and he's trying to assure her over and over again that his feelings are not shallow and aren't going anywhere even in the face of her trauma just like she did for him when he was at his lowest. what she truly wants is someone who won't leave even if she thrashes about.

Can't say I agree. He doesn't know the extent of her trauma, but she never told him anything too. Not about the beatings, abuse, slurs, he can only guess by how she reacts to her own sister.
He's seeing her for the first time, bit by bit, down to how rough her hands actually are. He's not dismissing her fears, he's talking her through them.

But reality isn't going to suddenly change if she heals from her trauma. It's not going to change that she is a maid and he is a noble, that she isn't the prettiest and she doesn't have a will strong enough for that world.
Am I supposed to believe that once she heals unicorn will start flying over the rainbow and confetti will fall from the sky?
Ok let's stop using our brain since we are reading a romance and apparently everything can be ignored for a happy ending

nobody is saying you should ignore anything. the reasons she's rejecting him are real but the reasons she's screaming at the top of her lungs about it are not. those are the trauma. there are obviously logistics that need to be addressed for them to be together but one of those is not him showing her too much love. that is exactly what she needs. when someone has built walls around their heart the only thing that can solve that is gentleness, patience, and an overwhelming amoutn of love the kind of which they have never received. she isn't scared of him. she's scared of his love because she thinks she's undeserving of it. it isn't really about their statuses. that's just the excuse she's throwing at him. a very valid one at that!
