(not a jinxx reader) but i believe this has been an on going epidemic in this community. some fujos/dans, if not most, are so quick to defend/sympathize with the top while offering little attention to the actual victim of the top's actions. is it the face, their position in the dynamic, or the backstory? nevertheless, it's always the bottoms who suffer from all of these
Peope who read jinx are jst that ass lol, the demographic is different. Most of them are jaekyung fans there just for smut or another bunch that just complains no matter what happens no actual readers dive into the characters, not to mention, minghwa's awful presentation of shit and that joke of a Ending
Honestly, that's one of the biggest problems with the Jinx fandom. A large portion of the audience either came for the smut or is so attached to Jaekyung that every discussion gets reduced to defending him or complaining about every chapter. Very few people actually engage with the characters, themes, or narrative beyond surface-level reactions.
It doesn't help that Minghwa's presentation was inconsistent either. Important emotional beats were rushed, conflicts weren't given enough room to breathe, and the ending felt more like a quick wrap-up than a satisfying conclusion. When the writing itself fumbles the execution, it becomes even harder for meaningful discussions to happen because the fandom ends up arguing over ships and favourites instead of the actual story.
If this same level of empathy had been shown to Kim Dan when he was depressed and suicidal enough to walk into the ocean, these discussions would've been a lot more consistent. People were quick to dismiss his suffering and even brushed off the rushed redemption arc, but now that it's the tops facing the consequences of his own actions, suddenly everyone is acting like it's the greatest tragedy ever.
I'm not saying he deserves to die or that anyone should celebrate his suffering. What I'm pointing out is the hypocrisy. The same grace and understanding that people are extending to the top was rarely given to the bottoms. Facing the consequences of your own actions isn't the same as being beyond sympathy, but it's unfair to demand empathy for one character while denying it to the other.
