Right? I really hate how the author wrote that scene. Like sure yeah maybe that stuff happens when couples get carried away and they use something as a leverage mid sex/scene but they should at the very very least show that it was re-negotiated under proper conditions where the sub doesn’t feel coerced or feel pressured to not “take it back” which is honestly implied by the formal contract because no one draws and signs a formal notarized contract impulsively or midsex.
It is also implied that the sub was interested in the idea but was only withholding agreement because he’s sulking about the pet name (which it’s kind of cute when a sub uses something like that to negotiate what they want) But I feel like people who have no BDSM experience or understanding of how things should be done would completely miss the implications. If the author really liked that unnecessary sex scene/ found it cute that’s fine by me but I really wish they would have explicitly revisited the topic and showed it being discussed and negotiated in better settings. I dont feel like everything needs to be too explicit all the time, but in the case of this manga because its soft core/ light and meant to be introductory to bdsm they have more of a responsibility to do it right and needed to do a better job.
I don’t know if this is a Korea thing or differences in BDSM culture there compared to the western world, but so many manhwa seem to start with potential only to become a complete wreck. Ang Ang and aporia did it too.
