from what I understand if the landscape he painted already exist somewhere, he can connect to the landscape(dungeon), but if the landscape he painted something completely new, he creates an entirety new dungeon. correct me if I'm wrong tho
I think you're right but the story hasn't confirmed that 100%, we just have some obvious hints.

So technically... if he were to draw a Landscape just like the sea where Giovanni resides. He would create a whole new world or something?
