Also being the only brother who is not “crazy” who actually has emotions, Grayson used this against him basically

So as you can see Grayson's f up in the head, that's due to him being a dominant alpha who are all pretty detached from feelings and all that stuff. Grayson himself has trouble understanding any of his own emotions, but his father who's also nearly emotionless (due to a lot of different reason like his parents who had the most toxic and tragic story in the "If you Can" verse) fell in love wich is why he wants to fall in love to feel smt.

As u read, you see that Dominant alphas need to release their pheromones frequently or it can have direct consequences like brain damage or death, but Chase, unlike the rest of his siblings who are all psychopathic can feel empathy and a bunch of other stuff despite being dominant. And bcs of his own beliefs he can't handle sleeping around bcs he's a dominant alpha, but as I've said before not releasing ur pheromones when u're dominant=death or brain damage, so Chase uses medication wich has very bad side effects. As time goes on his body develops resistances making him take stronger medication wich might also greatly damage his health and body (what happened to their father actually).

So Grayson was pressuring him to go to pheromone parties, but Chase refused to sleep w anyone, so one day when Chase was going through his rut, at the end of it, Grayson came into his room w his dog Alex i think? And let Chase assume he had slept w the dog (Chase was feeling refreshed after his rut when he usually feels like shit wich meant his instincts got satisfied).

Thinking that this would push Chase to finally start sleeping around and release his pheromones (Grayson thought he was helping him, and i'm srs he genuinely believes that), but as a result Chase went into a panic attack and shot the dog to death.

Then he developed PTSD so bad that even seeing dogs leads him to have a panic attack and to freeze up (the thing is that during his rut he had slept w an actual person wich is Joshua Bailey an omega who was working as his bodyguard and who got pregnant as a result had a son and all that without Chase knowing, until Josh got hired again as a bodyguard for him and having the whole "Kiss me If You Can" story)

Joshua is that character that was looking at Dane while speaking on the phone w him and "Desire me if you Can" is a bit after the end of "Kiss me If You Can" (Tbh Chase and Josh's story is prolly the healthiest out of all of ZIG's stories and it's rlly funny how Chase puts the dumb in dumb blonde).

If you're interested in the other members of the family their stories weren't adapted yet (their darkest stories are Grayson's grandparents like I first mentioned wich was toxic on both ends and horrifying too).


Then u have Grayson's eldest brother Nathaniel and his partner Chrissy who both work as a Prosecutor and Lawyer, but committed the most crimes smh, they're both toxic in an attempted murder way??? But apparently it's pretty good and has a happy ending.

The first generation was so toxic (idk if I should tell u to not spoil you if u ever wanna check it out) their son wich is Grayson's dad was so traumatized by what his dominant alpha father did, that he resented his secondary gender and did everything to stop himself from becoming cruel wich led to him being barely able to expressing emotions.

Then, you have his husband wich is a dominant omega and Grayson's other dad. That guy is WAY too naive and always wanted a big family, cus he's an orphan (Even when his husband never wanted kids cus he didn't wanna pass his psychotic genes).

In the end, they had 6 kids 4 guys, 2 girls (one of the girls is Grayson's twin) all dominant alphas except for the youngest boy who is a dominant omega his name is Bliss. Everyone in this family is crazy except for Chase bcs he DOES feel emotions, but his father was still so biased and traumatized from his experiences w dominant alphas that he viewed Chase js like them (he does love his kids, js like his husband does, but he can't express it), (spoiler of the manhwa btw)




Dane has a convo w Grayson's dad and confronts him abt the abuse situation and then his father nswers "You think i abused him?", wich leads to Dane discovering that his father tried everything to make his son understand that he was acting dangerously.

He told his friend in elementary to kill his brother if he wanted to get his parents' attention back, he nearly killed another boy and finally after he nearly killed his other father by putting detergent in a cake, bcs he discovered that he couldn't taste food (his older brother was js watching as their father was dying btw w Grayson) his DA father decided to separate them from their Omega father unless he was w them and then he started being super harsh w Grayson on his punishment bcs speaking and explaining that murder was wrong only led to "i js wanted to help".

And also Grayson doesn’t understand emotions. He wants to help Chase . And also Chase is his favourite brother. He wants to help Chase but his mind doesn’t work properly. And Grayson knows if Chase doesn’t Release his pheromones he’ll die so he comes with a lie thinking Chase will start releasing pheromones by going to the party. And also Grayson gets locked up when he was a kid by his father Ashley when Grayson does bad but Grayson doesn’t understand that locking up for days is an abuse that’s when Dane gets startled thinking he doesn’t even know he was getting abused as a child. It’s really wonderful and an amazing story. Grayson has the best character development out of all the Miller brothers. The novel is well written. Once he starts understanding emotions he apologised to everyone, takes hits and slap from them. To me He’s the only Miller who had the best character development

And people keep saying he’s a psychopath. But he’s not a psychopath. He can feel emotions but he can’t understand what he’s feeling . He can be angry , sad , happy , jealous but he doesn’t know how each of them is . That’s what made me sad . He suffers from Alexithymia. He loves helping others but it hurts other emotionally and he keeps thinking I am helping them but why are they harsh towards me. He’s more autistic. He’s in his own world most of the times . He thinks if he finds love , his true partner then he Will able to understand the emotions he’s feeling . He strongly believes love will make him understand just like his papa and daddy .

Yes, he may look like a psychopath (I also thought this before) but I think it's the dominant genes from birth. He already feels empathy since young bc he constantly wants to help when he sees someone in need. He just does not know what right process he'll do to really help others without bringing harm. He lacks proper guidance, and thats where the parents failed at. It was often being prove in this story that even as an adult, his teachings from before were engrave in his brain.

It's not that he didn't feel emotions before, it's more that he had a hard time understanding his own emotions and others' too. Basically "helping" ppl is what he views as the good thing to do, since he doesn't understand emotions well he doesn't realize that stuff that hurts you despite the fact it might be efficient to you, has a mental impact on you as a person, bcs trauma stems from strong emotions that your brain will mark as smt important and hurtful that you don't want happening to you again depending on the severity of it, and it's also a defense mechanism that your brain makes to avoid further damage so not being able to translate emotions will make you unable to understand why others don't like what you did, in all:
