Yeah they did fall inlove and Grayson is the one who will fall harder, dane didn't show much but he risked his life to save Grayson and at the very end accepted his feelings
Grayson fell first and hard, Dane fell later and also pretty hard. Actually Dane did fall way before the end, the problem was that he was denying it due to a family related trauma which affected him a lot.
