Tbh I dont think so bc he identified that even if he could gain a little smth from that guy, that dude wasn't much different from his former clients and his old pimp. They were just ppl that viewed him as an ant and thought he should be grateful for being able to lick their shoes. He was playing the part bc he was suspicious of this guy, not bc he actually wanted dudes help. If he could piggy back off of him without having to do anything(the guy was courting him), great. But not at risk for himself or ML. Even before he found out, he was scoping out the guys intentions and playing hard to get on purpose so the guy wouldn't do anything too drastic..it was more like buying time then him considering getting eith the guy for benefits.
I read the entire thing ages ago but sometimes I think about how if the MC had never known that that guy knew that noona, would mc have ended up doing exactly what she did to ml? I feel like MC was close to doing anything to 'help him and ml' makes me feel kinda icky.
