This is honestly how I felt when I read red candy and this one too lol

I am also a bit slow. I am not sure if Rian is trying to protect/keep Enzo out of this or if he wants to bring him down - or maybe he's seeing if Enzo can turn over a new leaf and actually become a better person? Or if it's just the organization that Enzo is a part of that he is trying to bring down. Very confused at the moment.

Here are the major points of the plot:

1. Enzo is the CEO of a media giant and a member of a group named Consortium, who also has ties to the mafia (Outfit).

2. Rian, the spy, approached him as an actor to steal information about the Consortium in a honey-trap mission. He failed. Enzo threw him off the balcony.

3. Rian pretended to be someone else: the Connector. He got into the Consortium and successfully stole the information. It was a project named Umbra. He stole phase one of it.

4. Enzo killed the other members of the Consortium (he said he intended to do that from the beginning), so Rian couldn't sell the info he had stolen, since it was useless.

5. Rian approached Enzo again, offering to keep working for him as the Connector, knowing that he wasn't the real Connector. He intended to gather more useful information to ruin Enzo after everything.

6. Enzo asked him to connect him to a woman named 'Vivian Fletcher', told him to do it without sleeping with her.

7. Rian did it anyway, gathering information for himself, also arranging a meeting for Enzo. The info he gathered led him to the restaurant where Fletcher had met the other members of the Consortium. He found the video of her meeting them.

8. He was going to use Enzo's meeting with her as a way to connect him to the murders of the Consortium members and the money laundering they were all involved in.

9. He said that he would cover either Enzo's connection to the murders or his connection to the Outfit if he gave himself to Rian.

10. He was going to be cruel the same way Enzo was to him, but seeing the scars and etc., he decided not to, but he's still lusting after him, so here they are!

Any part that needs more explanation, just say the number~

Rian is a secret agent for a company that obtains and sells information to the highest bidder. They’re not necessarily the good guys, they’re just after money. In Red Candy for example they were making deals with a criminal. In BA they caught whiff of the consortium and Lorenzo, so they sent Rian to investigate possible industrial espionage, which is how they met.

Lorenzo is the CEO of Shine Media (basically Netflix), but also part of the mafia group called The Outfits. What exactly his plan is, is not supposed to be clear right now. We just know that he gathered the consortium in one place (all members had connections with the Outfits) killed them off because they had betrayed The Outfits by funnelling away money into their own bank accounts, and is now after Fletcher because she also has connections to all of these dead consortium members (and probably some of their money).

Based on his conversation with Fletcher, we also know that Lorenzo and his Grandfather (the actual Don of the Outfits) aren’t on great terms, and Lorenzo might be plotting to take down his Grandfather and assuming the title of the Don. Right now he’s not the real Don even though that’s what people keep calling him. He’s been trying to carry out all of his plans without the Outfits catching on to him.

But then Rian throws a wrench into his plans as Lorenzo explained in this chapter. If Rian’s company connects Lorenzo/Shine Media to all of the consortium murders and his meeting with Fletcher (who is also connected to the consortium), then Lorenzo can end up in prison. Basically, imagine seeing headlines that the Netflix CEO is a mass murderer. That would be a massive scandal.

Rian offers him a way out by covering up at least some parts of the evidence his company has on Lorenzo. Not really sure why though, maybe he initially wanted to get revenge on Lorenzo in his own way for putting him through so much shit (rapes, stranded in the desert, the general disrespect, etc), but now realized he can’t go through with it after seeing Lorenzo’s back. Now we’ll see what direction the story takes. Initially it was Lorenzo trying to tame Rian with all the slut-shaming, but now Rian is taking the reins and forcing Lorenzo to be less hardcore and shit in bed (otherwise their deal will be off and Lorenzo will be screwed).
