The author wrote it as an example of revisionist history, that men always blame the women no matter what. At the end of the chapter, Haru says “what did she really do wrong though? All she did was invent love.” So it matches the rest of the story that the first woman is seen as bad in history even though she didn’t do anything bad.
I’m not trying to “fix” what the author published by saying this. I hope this can help you understand what the author actually published.
I already understood what the author MEANT by adding that section to the story. It still doesn't change my opinion or perception of it. Unfortunately, art is subjective. We could both debate over the meaning of their work, they could say it in black and white, but what someone takes away from it will always be individual. To me, that one chapter ruins the entire series for me. It doesn't matter about the logic behind it because it isn't a logical response. It's a visceral feeling I get. I've reread the story twice since it was completed. Both times, I was left feeling gross and wrong for reading it BECAUSE of that one chapter. It might or might not change in the future. But every time I look at this story NOW, that one chapter has degraded everything I thought and felt while reading it.
THAT'S why I said, at the end, I'm glad if you can look past it. I can't.
Art is subjective, I just feel like you chose the weakest interpretation and can’t look past it. It’s a shame the story was ruined for you, I thought it was interesting the whole way and almost didn’t read it bc of ur comment so I hoped I could come back and change ur mind :(

Idc what anyone says, that ruined the entire series for me. That guy breaks down the history and religions of the world, the beliefs, and it becomes "everything is the fault of women" and "women are inherently impure", something I've heard way too many times. If the "teacher" bit had not been added, I would have enjoyed the ending and found the whole series bittersweet.
Now? Now this story leaves a bitter, ugly taste in my mouth. Every time I remember the good moments that made me think and feel, that scene will be in the back of my head. Yeah, but at the end of the day, every scene in this story equals how women are the root of all evil. Yet again. Ugh. I wish I hadn't read this story at all, because while everyone else can look past that, I can't.
Please don't try to explain it to me, either. There's no "fixing" what was already published. Whatever their intentions. That's what the author wrote and put out and that's how I interpreted it. If you see it a different way, great! I CAN'T. You "explaining" it to me well not change my opinion.
