social medias the worst thing to happen to piracy tbh, idk why people think they should be sharing anything related to un-official translations outside this website or other piracy sites. Like did they not learn from the many piracy sites and fan-TLS that have been taken down over the years or do they just generally not gaf ╥﹏╥
As I said, most of them only care about getting likes and followers. And I also know some accounts that deliberately share piracy sites. Those people can afford to purchase manga/manhwa from legal websites and think that every illegal website should be shut down.
They genuinely think themselves as higher than illegal readers. And I'm saying this cuz I've spoken to 3-4 of them. So annoying.
Yeah exactly ╥﹏╥ That’s what annoys me the most. Like, if you’re already able to buy the official releases and you genuinely don’t like piracy, then why are you even going out of your way to interact with or promote piracy sites just to lecture people about it? plus half the time those people just end up making themselves a target for some real nasty people that fight back on legal readers. ik some people are doing it from a place of fighting piracy but like they do realize that shits never going away. even when b@to shut down multiple other sites popped up after it and translators just moved their work to other sites to continue working on them.
And the people who post unofficial translations publicly just for likes/followers are making things worse for everyone. It’s not even about “gatekeeping” at that point, it’s literally about not drawing unnecessary attention to stuff that already gets taken down constantly. Some people really don’t think beyond getting engagement on their account which pisses me off. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
If mangago devs managed to make a mechanism where we can't take screenshots. That would be so much better. Cuz some bchites only care about getting likes and followers.
