I agree with you! He is in a bad place, and he probably defaulted without even thinking. I was shocked when he said it, but the fact he caught himself made me so proud. He doesn't want to sabotage it. I will only get mad if he does go to the bar or spa. And even then, I will still forgive him if he doesn't go with another man.

There is a definite disconnect going on. No one is agreeing or encouraging what the Kaji intrusively thought. People forget that sex and having multiple partners at one point in your life can be a form of damaging yourself. Like he thought of people as numbers based on rating. It’s gotten THAT BAD when he went out for flings. He was given that wake up call that for all flings he had, what he truly wanted was a relationship where he can be vulnerable in.
People point out that this is out of the norm for Kanji to think this way. Don’t you think you gave yourself the answer there? Yes it is out of the norm on purpose. The author has put in great writing for fukami’s struggle with human connection. So I want to put some faith that this intrusive thought Kaji had is meant to be a sign for us the readers to be shocked with him and take note that he is in a bad place mentally. He had NEVER thought of cheating even when he was lonely, miles away, and trying to get fukami to live with him. So this chapter is confirming that his flings at first was a form of trying to get control back, attempting to fill that void of lost human connection but resulted in damaging his perception on people. A result from him struggling his relationship with his parents.
