uh, I have a question. but please don't roast me and hate me bcs I'm not hating it or against it, and I really don't mind it...
I just want to know why do you guys prefer replying with "camp here" or "commenting bcs I want to know too" instead of just following the question?

I agree. The reason the follow button was added was precisely because back in the day, without that option, people would post a literal period (.) or any other random word, or 'following' to follow a question they're interested in. When a lot of people show interest, there could be a lot of follows, meaning notifications for the op who posted the question, but there wouldn't be any actual recs, just a bunch of 'following' comments in replies lol. People used to be like "oh, I thought I had a bunch of people giving me recs but it's just people following ( ̄∇ ̄")"
