I think you're right. With every new manga that drops, the first question seems to be who's the top and who's the bottom—though, of course, it is a Boys' Love title in the end. And let's be honest, people mostly read them for the sex. Official sites usually list the top/bottom roles in the tags, but you can't see the tags here

This is what people mean when they say that yaoi readers are fetisizhers and I see many of the problematic and toxic part of the yaoi readers here in this comment section...To people who are saying "it's just a preference" and then dropping the story cuz the ML is probably the bottom(not verified yet) y'all just exposing yourself cuz to me it smells like internalized misogyny, Femmephobia and Hegemonic masculinity... As a yaoi reader myself, yes I would've have loved to see a Sadistic yandere top , but at the same time "my preference" has nothing to do with someone's sexuality or sexual dynamics...I would read this nevertheless cuz I am genuinely loving how chaotic and funny this is ...
