And you're right. I can already predict that they will bring the "murder" and "video games" arguments and whataboutism, and those arguments are valid when lots of violent games target women, queers, and dark skinned people of colour (mostly black people), and even harmless games like fashion games ingrain harmful ideas; you will notice that dark skinned tone and fat/chubby bodies options are non-existent, and thin/skinny body types the default.

Representation is very important.
I remember in every media (books, mangas, movies, series, etc), they portray women losing their virginity for the first time as very painful and penetration is a must, which scarred lots of women and girls, and we have internalized that harmful myth, when in reality, first time doesn't hurt when women get turned on and their male partners ask us where we feel good and how THEY should process.

I grew up playing girlsgogames.com, and other dress up games, only realizing as I got older how inherently racist, fatphobic, and misogynistic so many of those games were, and maybe still are.
And what we’re talking about here can absolutely apply to those in the gaming community. If you are going out of your way to play violent games that target minorities, children, women, hell even animals, especially as an adult, I believe it can a be gateway to being an unsafe individual in your community/environment.
I can say that the boys I grew up around in school who played things like mortal combat, resident evil, walking dead, or wtv, had more grim humor, less empathy, and seemed desensitized to violent themes.
This is just my experience, and i’m sure there is so much more to say about this topic of violent games with nuance.

I see it as being predatory and conditions young women and girls who are watching/reading themes around virginity and the ‘first time’ to prioritize men in all regards before themselves. To anticipate a painful experience, no connection, no aftercare, and purely just pleasure, for the man to clear.
