Something about the wording of the father saying what she did, and her saying "I thought he was his brother" ?
And the way she pauses when her son draws the rape conclusions like "good he bought it".
So I wonder if she is involved with the scam and this was her big cover. And a good way to drive a wedge between the kids and Vanessa.

Yeah she had no tears and looked up in a "got him" kind of way. If I'm gathering this all correctly... She'd been in love with him but didn't get to marry him. So she decided to assault him when she found out Vanessa's mother was pregnant? And then claim drunk after. And now she still carries the hate but towards Vanessa.
Yes, she claimed how she loves the older brother aka Vanessa's father. Tried to assault him but karma played her and it turned out to be the younger brother. I'm sure she wanted to put the blame on the other person even if she's the one who orchestrated it. Still her hate should be towards the uncle if he even didn't acknowledge what happened or maybe could've prevented it idk..but it's always the innocent person who's being hated.
How's that Vanessa's fault though...? The uncle was trash from the beginning and even their mother was at fault too. I'm not justifying what happened to her nope. But she has her part too...
