I just never get it. Its one thing if it was an emotionally resistant MC that didn't return ML feelings so he locks him up. Not saying thats right in that situation, but at least there's a reason MLs are harsh in those scenarious(those MCs rlly dont love them and if its isn't forced love then MC will rlly leave them). This MC actually loves you! ML genuinely had a good thing going and as long as he shut his damn mouth and did nothing, it would continue. Bro literally created this situation for himself! MC would've never thought to leave him before ML decided he wanted to be a POS. Like the problem is you, ML!
