it’s been a while but I remember the vitriol for freddie like it was yesterday. “oh but he’s a cheater for ruining kira’s reputation” my ass you can’t cheat on someone when you didn’t know the identity of who you were marrying. ppl where slut shaming him when both the ml and mc were just caught in a shitty situation. yes the ml was pissy but not a “cheater” everyone saying that word made me smack my forehead so many times words mean something you guys not everything in your lane of sight is a “cheater”
I keep seeing the repetitive comments about ML cheating way back when they first tied the knot on the “marriage” and while I’m not going to make any argument for or against the morals of anyone’s actions mentioned in this comment, I will play devils advocate just because it feels like Groundhog Day.
If we stone the ML for stepping out on MC (since we are taking actions of characters at face value, ignoring backstories and/traumas to do the whole 2 wrongs don’t make a right schtick) then why aren’t we pulling MC into the town square for literally evey advance he’s made willingly towards ML. Dude is fucking his sisters man and just plans to return him like that’s a sensible or acceptable thing to do.
Personally, if any of my siblings fucked my partner while I was missing (especially if they were doing it under the pretense of being me for some convoluted reason and my partner knew it was NOT) I’d be sick and absolutely reject the idea of taking them back.
AGAIN, not one way or another on this just being the devils advocate on neither character is clean if you take things at face value. It’s more complex when you have to consider backstories, traumas, outside interference on the plot and the weight that has on certain choices.
