Just wanna add that if someone goes to extreme measures like this to seek for attention then it's also a sign that something is deeply wrong which can stem from depression and suicidal thoughts.
Yk, as in clinging to the last thing they 'have' as hard and manipulative as they can, crossing every line for the chance to keep them, even if it means destroying themselves in the meantime.
Haven't really experienced this side that extreme, but back then I had some similar phases when it got really bad, so I atleast feel the desperation to have someone care for you and not give you up.
Adding this because I feel like people use the 'attention seeking' phrasing as an excuse to not take people seriously way too often (not saying you necessarily did that).
On another note- he might not have thought as much of where he is and just wanted the fastest access to a blade, which might have been the hotel room, but that's just another theory, we will see in the next chapter^^
Completely understand. I've had moments where I've broken down in front of people I love and it felt terrible. I don't like showing my weak side to anyone esp people I love. Which is probably why I'm having a bit of a negative reaction to this bc it's the side of myself where I feel most shameful to show or experience.
Attention seeking is definitely a brash term to use. It does err on the side of desperation, and could be a plea for help. I shouldn't judge so hastily for sure, so I appreciate you providing another side to this situation. Thank you.

As someone who suffers from depression and suicidal thoughts from time to time, this behavior bothers me. I know people have different ways of expressing sadness and grief but it really feels like it's more attention seeking than actually being suicidal. Or maybe he's just trying to feel something. But why do it in his room... I know he's depraved and desperate but... ugh I don't like this portrayal... I know some people might be able to relate to the instability he's going through. Please don't take my post to mean I'm being judgmental, I'm just a bit bothered as it hits close to home
