I think both??? I think they were already at the point where they realized they couldn't hold onto her anymore, so when the ring took affect it was easier to let go but they were still in love with her, and I think because the ring gave them back their rationality they fully realized what they've done since the charm wasnt masking that anymore
I cant tell what the prince and duke really think. Do they still love her and made up their mind to say they dont so she can finally be happy OR are they realizing everything they did was really cuz of the charm and hate the fact that they never truly loved her????
