the rest got cut off but I really hope the author decides to give us more whether it’s of these two or completely new characters, I’ll take it. Found this manga years ago and always wanted more so I’m sad that it’s over.
Just ignore those people. They sound like middle schoolers who have not experience the world yet. Shidou is as much of a regular john as one can be, what do they expect him to do? Destroy the world? Not to mention "divorce Toshio from the "evil society"". The only way for that to happen is if either Toshio is unalived or they both live in the jungle with monkeys. So yeah, just ignore those meaningless rambling.

i was like "oh dang, so should the dude just shoot the kid so he would be free from all this darkness? isn't that a grimmer ending than allowing him to slowly reintegrate into society"
they’re trying to make it seem like shindou preyed on toshio’s innocence or that shindou was acting as some sort of savior when he reiterated multiple times that he’s not a good person but he still felt that he somewhat had some kind of responsibility for toshio. I feel like if shindou was a lot less mature no one would see a problem tbh. I feel content with this ending and that toshio deserves the world
I think the author is not trying to protray Shindou as some type of hero or savior to Toshio or anything. He's simply a normal man with a normal moral compass that unknowingly stepped into a twisted, absurd situation. Think about it, he's just a man with a somewhat above average appearance, average income, a common sense moral compass, and most likely a normal upbringing. And I believe that's "normality" is what saved Toshio. All Toshio needs is a normal person that loves him for who he is and helps him navigate the world, and that's exactly what Shindou is.
author has three other works ^^ but... none are translated... ╥﹏╥
This was an amazing, thought provoking, and emotional story. It’s definitely an all time favorite and I think it was written in a way to make you question if what you see is right or wrong (even if that was or wasn’t the authors intention, I felt very strongly about every decision made), everything about these characters should be met with nuance, which a lot of people are completely ignoring for the sake of being morally superior (in my opinion)
