I wouldnt say he was in love with him when he was a child, it was probably said in the worst way possible , to be fair, that part wasnt even in the novel, its jst an additional scene from the artist.

And that’s exactly what we see here. We get to see how Yuri himself describes those feelings, and based on what’s actually shown in the story, they don’t fit the medical or legal definitions of pedophilia either. Once again, you need to be more thoughtful about what pedophilia actually means and learn to properly understand the story. Because calling Yuri a pedo is nothing but slander against such a beautiful character.
