I think we're meant to feel pissed at Jinwoo.
It has been shown time and time again that he is an unreliable narrator; Guwon probably has an idea or even KNOWS what Jinwoo really is like. Potentially, letting Teach live out the moral life that he's trying so hard to live.
Realistically speaking, if Guwon wanted, he could have easily wiped the floor of the people. He has the strength for it; only because teach was there that he held back. None of the villagers would have even survived had it not been for Jinwoo's existence.
100% to everything you said!! Teach irritated me so much as well, morals are a luxury during an apocalypse, sacrificing for the greater good hurts but it can't be avoided.
I don't think Guwon was purposefully cruel about it too, just very detached from the feelings of other people so he didn't grasp the despair they felt after what he did.
For him it was all in favor of the safe town he built.
No you're right. Some of the people in the comments and those townspeople seems to have forgot that their world is in a literal apocalypse! Apocalypse!! Literally it's total anarchy out there. The zombies aren't even the biggest problem, it's the other people. People are killing other people for supplies out there all the time. These townsfolk are entirely disconnected on how hellish it is out there because it's been Guwon and his Hounds who have been dealing with the outside world for them. Now they're about to face a very painful reality check.
Exactly. It's so annoying watching this people in the comments hate Guyon as if he's so evil. Like bruh, did you read the manhwa with your eyes closed. Guwon clearly does not exactly know what's right and wrong. Nearly everything he did wasn't out of malice or cruelty. He simply thought he was merely following the rules, that rules are rules. He's like a literal child that just suddenly grew into an adult. Heck, he didn't even know what kissing or masturbation was.

Those long ass motivational speeches are the poster child for hope slop. They're in an apocalypse. They don't have much experience with supply drops. They don't do supply runs. They've been way too detached from the chaotic reality of what's outside the walls for too long, and had their basic physiological needs met, so naturally they seek out moral safety, which is a privilege in this world to be honest.
No one wants to live in a dictatorship, and certainly, no one wants to see their loved ones and companions die in front of them. However, reality check, could they honestly withstand the world outside with the power of hope and love and "holding their heads up high"? Maybe this is too optimistic of me, but honestly, was changing the system from the inside, when they had Jinwoo, someone who held sway over their leader, more difficult over facing the god forsaken wasteland full of arguably MORE depraved humans(I mean, look at Corrosive and Seungho's situation) and fxckin ZOMBIES? Maybe I'm expecting too much critical and higher order of thinking out of people living through an apocalypse and have been pampered after it, maybe that's the author's intention but honestly, it makes me so irritated how much the townspeople and Jinwoo relies on this power of friendship and "dying on their own terms". They're acting like it's a people power revolution against a corrupt government that's doing shit for their own gain in the normal world and holding an absurdly high moral ground, instead of seeing it as power being handled by a guy who has a very skewed view of morality and keeping people safe in an apocalypse. Guwon doesn't discriminate based on prejudices, but usefulness which is sadly a valid thing during an apocalypse, with limited resources and shit. Hell, I'm grateful he didn't kill the kids right then and there when he saw them. Maybe the loss, stress, grief and guilt got to them that instead of taking what would be a long, logical, but ultimately worth it process, they went to "upheave the system" route instead.
Maybe I'm playing to the author's tune, but I'm irritated at Jinwoo tbh
