This chapter was so good and hits so close to home. When my abusive father died I also ended up taking his pets. I’m fine w t cat but ngl I wish someone else would take the dog but he’s 16 now and it feels cruel to rehome him at this point. This detail in the story was unexpected but i’m glad the author included it.
