I know 2026 you can't spell yaoi without "rape" or "assault", or "coersion" but sometimes it gets to me

It feels like it's a well thought out and intriguing plot with interesting characters but I just can't read any further or take this seriously with all the dismissed sexual assault. I don't care if you're attractive, or really good at foreplay, it's really scary when someone doesn't take no. I've been harassed or aggressively convinced by hot people before, and I actually felt okay like it was a dark romance moment, but then it always hits later that "something was done to me without consent."

(I just know someone will crashout on me for trauma dumping on some "then don't readdd ittttt." Exactly bish, I won't lol)

Valid take, and I think it’s a healthy reminder not to so easily brush things off just because it doesn’t bother YOU or simply because “it’s just fiction”. Sometimes we need to just voice our opinion as we shelf the read, and there’s nothing wrong with that in the slightest. If you get to voice your opinion that you think non con is sexy/hot, then by all means the other party gets to voice their opinion that it bothers them.

Sorry you’ve had moments like that, stay safe out there lovely reader <3

Dark Times, I know it was worse back in the days, but I’m having a hard time too. you start reading, good plot, good characters and then chap 374858 there’s rape. It’s like shitting in my face.
Having said that, respect is the minimum, AND it is hot, can’t understand romanticizing rape.

I'm glad ya'll are feeling me. Usually I get ratio'ed if I say "wait, why was there rape?" "rapists are not cool". It's a real slap in the face literary wise, because this society is similar to modern korea, so why is he acting like a mideival woman with no rights. "He is forceful(assualted me,) but he is indeed hot and takes care of me. He's strong and fights for my honor, perhaps I should not be such a prude." And yes, respect is VERY sexy indeed, it actually makes me feral haha
