I don’t like that the abuse is making Yujin realize he does in fact love Aaron. (Because he misses the old version of him). There were so many other things that could have made him realize it. Implying he has to see that Aaron has the potential to be a monster in order to realize he needs to change his own behaviour to be deserving of the nice Aaron??
