Hrm, so, as a gay man, I try to not find this sort of thing offensive. It boils down to the fact that yaoi rarely has anything to do with actual gay men or real life. It's a nicely packaged fantasy, with hetero relationships where one character is genderbent.
I do find it problematic that it is so far removed from real life, but on the flip side, it's sometimes better than women treating us like their own personal entertainment(flooding our establishments for their own amusement, etc). Whatever ╮(￣▽￣)╭

But you seem to understand that yaoi is not about gay men or real life and that the point of yaoi is to provide women with a way to explore their sexuality without the gender baggage they encounter in real life. Yaoi "ungenders" sexuality for female readers, so yes, it's not about gay men at all.
Hen parties in gay bars, yeah, that's awful and nothing to do with yaoi readers. Don't lump us in with them.
I guess if you except a sex scene in a gay movie, while you are not able to handle or to look at ppl ( what their orientation is) having sex, is a completely normal thing. However,there are movies that talk about gay love and issues and teach ppl more about their struggle. For example for Now if you have heard of Andi Mack, gay teen coming out's story.. Its released by Disney.
