I am re-reading this story for the 100th time, but only now I came to realize that the plot might be different to what I always thought it was. 1 aka how I thought it was: Ran thought child was in danger, so he eloped with the kid to save him. While reading this story I thought it could be 2: Ran actually knew that his supernatural daddy wanted to save the boy, so out of jealousy he decided to kill the kid, and by slicing him to bits supernatural daddy saved Rin. Now I even think it might be: 3: Ran thought that Daddy decided to kill the kid nonetheless, but while in the snow he thought the kid would come back to his Daddy, so decided to kill him. 4: the kid could be killed either because of Daddy's jealousy which resulted into the decision to not help mother but bad people and kill Rin, or by Ran's jealousy in the snow. Crazy, right?
