but yos ;-; being constantly put down as a kid is much more hurtful than people think it is and when they're in their teenage years, it's mostly the time where they finalise what to do in life and what to believe in and i honestly dont blame alex for pushing dg away like that despite being frustrated just bc we're not a blind npc who doesn't know about their past and experiences with others
im so happy that alex and dg are opening up to each other tho bc alex allows himself to relax more with dg since im like 99% sure it's so relieving to have someone who knows your internet persona and your irl self + that person being the one you love and is actually goddamn dating
yeah i re-read the whole manhwa from start to finish and it helped piece the story better than just reading it once a week. i do read the raws first and i've been following since the start so i needed a refresher. the story and plot became clearer after a full read-through. also, i'm just so frustrated by some dumb anons who keep misconstruing jiwon's character to fit their narrative, and even accusing both of a personality transplant just because it doesn't coincide with that they THOUGHT dg or alex should or should have acted. i think to fully understand the character, you need to look at their background too. there's always a motivation for an action.
i actually love the progression and the clever way the title is being used. the broadcast jockey part of jiwon's persona being the online version of who he can't be in person, someone who is adored by many because he was starved and deprived of it growing up. and then in comes DG who knew him through that persona, only to really love him and accept him and provide him the true love he was craving for from the very beginning.
it's a really nice touch and i hate that some people don't seem to get it :(
watch me just reread this over and over again while crying this time to happiness due to how good the character and relationship development is between alex and dg ;w;
time was the best thing that alex could have given to both himself and dg and knowing the both of them, jumping right into the situation would make it 100x worse so it kinda pisses me off when people tell alex to "GO CLAIM YOUR MANS" or scream at dg to "GO FIND ANOTHER MANS"
dg is still heartbroken and alex is stressed over the whole thing ;-; just... let characters have their time to recover!!!! big wounds dont magically just heal overnight ;-;

This scene is a great summary of the whole story. Jiwon is the way he was with DG at the beginning because DG posed as a threat to the one thing that he has worked so hard for - reputation and acceptance. And why he is the way he is now with DG after everything else.
In this school, Jiwon is loved by everyone, he is accepted and respected. Online, he is loved by thousands and is number 1 as opposed to how he grew up and was treated by his parents whom he only wanted to please. He was always a disappointment to them and no matter how hard he tried, he was never good enough. He had issues being 2nd place, being 2nd choice. He was jealous of his brother growing up because his brother has it all. He was sweet and nice to people but he was still never accepted by the people who mattered to him. So when that hyung started treating him special, he held on because for once he was the 1st priority, he was the 1st choice. So when the hyung turned out to be a cheater who never really cared for him, it broke him because he realized it was the same all over again - he was just not good enough.
But in this new school where his brother doesn't go, where he's the president and is adored by many, he feel freer. He is finally the person that is respected. Online, he has the love of strangers. But all of that is in jeopardy the minute DG recognized him. That made him treat DG harshly, made him treat DG callously. He pushed him away as much as he can but found that he was very much attracted to DG so he propositioned the fuckbuddy relationship. Even then, he still put a clear line between them because he was still held back by his past. He even treated DG harshly and acted on his jealousy with MD - the number 2 bj. He saw MD as a threat, the same way he thought he was not good enough for DG, that DG wanted more, something he can't give. Was he right in the way he treated DG? NO. But there's a reason for it and what's good is that he realized it and he recognized his mistake. Whenever he felt that he's slowly letting DG in into his life, he pushes DG away because even he can recognize that he feels something for DG. DG is not making it up in his head, because he was right, Jiwon was sending mixed signals. Jiwon just can't accept it because he can't let go of his past.
But when faced with the real possibility of DG getting over him, Jiwon realized that DG really meant a lot to him. That was when he ripped the old picture with the hyung who hurt him. He realized he was hurting DG the way he was hurt by that hyung. Because he was so afraid to be hurt, he ended up hurting someone else who only ever wanted love from him, the way he only wanted it back then. He understood that he hurt DG and decided to leave him alone seeing him smile so happily with Jaejin.
But of course, when he decided to leave DG alone, that was when DG got sick lol and they ended up confessing to each other and talking about the misunderstandings. After talking, DG gives Jiwon a chance and gets together with him because he recognizes that Jiwon is not defined by one or two actions. They're adult enough to recognize mistakes and forgive and move on forward together.
Jiwon is sweet to DG now because he is finally himself. He's not hiding anymore and he's not being held back by his past. DG isn't a threat to his popularity anymore as a bj because DG ended up providing him the love he sought from internet strangers through streaming.
Idk how Jiwon will react if they get outed because his image is so important to him and because DG has had such a traumatic experience with being ridiculed in high school too. So I'm curious as well.
