Okay, so I'm reading this for the nth time and I can't believe I just noticed this now.
So Chizu states at the beginning how Naoki gets her from childcare, does the laundry, her breakfast and then takes her to kindergarten, and then to work. Then again gets her from kindergarten, food and then childcare and returns to work. Then Naoki says he works from early morning to late night. And we see that Chizu is well taken care off, well fed and the house is clean. There's no neglect there (If there was, in manga it is implied and/or depicted). Then we see the whole thing of the mother saying "You think your only job in this family is earning money". Now, she's never mentioned to have a job of her own. She mentions her new husband can provide for Chizu, and she's depicted as the typical stay-at-home mom (again in manga depiction is very important so it is safe to assume she's actually a stay-at-home mom). So, she complains about her job, making him out to be the bad guy and abandons Chizu and him (he was also abandoned and that is important). Naoki truly thinks that he was putting too much pressure on her by expecting her to raise the child while he works and so he becomes unable to ask for help or relying on others. He thinks he should handle everything by himself.
And then, she has the guts to come and critique all his efforts and how he and Chizu is leaving when she's to blame for that???? Then she proceeds to take Chizu away without, AGAIN, making any effort on her behalf. She just expects Chizu to fit right in. She doesn't try to introduce the new family first, she doesn't try to integrate Chizu, she does absolutely nothing for Chizu. It was all for her. Maybe to feel better after having left her behind, I don't know. It just shows what a selfish woman she is.
Like I was angry before about the whole deal, yes. But the dimension of her wrong doing are so much big than what I thought initially. Sorry for the long rant but I was really angry at that.

Thank you!! Exactly!! I couldn’t figure out how Naoki could think HE was the one being selfish at all when this woman left her child and husband and then came back when she felt like it to take the child back like??? UGH IT MADE ME SO MAD but youre right that Naoki is happy now because he has his own family so thats all that matters

Which is why it troubles me that the author thinks she's not a bad woman. Geez. She's not fit to be a mother at all then she had to marry someone who just thinks about socially accepted "good" environment (aka gays as parents is bad environment) when they don't even discipline their son. And the thought that gays are bad influence were also hinted so casually throughout the manga—which makes me glad that Yoshi and Naoki became a family with Chizu, because they were a GOOD influence for Chizu (being responsible and all)

U r right.. In the whole story it gave me a bitter feeling... In one of other manga too shown the woman is OK to handle other child instead of hers... Like how can they even see them differently... And yeah u said it on point- when she said u think your only job in this family is earning money.. I got really triggered.. He is giving his full to make a better tomorrow for his family... Whereas she abandoned her child... I think there's no difference in her stage.. She was a house wife and still a housewife.. It's like she left him bcz of money..... How can one do something like this to one's special person.... Waiting is also love...

On top of all of this, it’s really aggravating how when chizu was w her moms on the weekends the mom would bring different men and hid a whole child in a cramped up space so they wouldn’t leave her when they saw chizu. But when it came to SOME ONE ELSE’s child she accepted it 100% and alienated her own child for the other kid when they were at the amusement park
