It's not normal how he feels for him, and his obsession is not the kind you would have for a friend. Both Woojin and Itae fail to recognize that. Woojin is under the assumption that Itae is carefree, spending fleeting time with him in the moment because it feels good. And Woojin is too greedy for his love, for his affection, he knows he shouldn't but he falls right back into him. Meanwhile, Itae doesn't really consider anything outside of Woojin. He likes what Woojin likes, he wants what Woojin wants, he wants Woojin. He needs him, he doesn't want to imagine being without him.
